FAQ

Today, more and more homes are being built on unstable soil. In fact, each year thousands of homeowners are faced with costly repairs due to foundation problems that could have been avoided by installing the Foundation Support Works® Helix Pier System prior to construction. Helix piers are mechanically screwed to deep stable soils, allowing the weight of the building to be transferred from unstable ground to these load bearing piers. More effective than engineering over-sized concrete footings, Foundation Support Works® Helix Piers guarantee your home rests on deep stable soil.

Q: Are your basement walls, cracked, bowed or bulging?
A: Until now, homeowners have had few choices for repairing foundation walls, except to excavate around the wall and build a new basement wall. This solution is expensive, time consuming, and destructive to landscaping. Not only that, the problem can reoccur if the wall is not properly rebuilt or if steps are not taken to correct the causes of the initial deterioration.picture-360

Davenport Foundation Repair uses the Foundation Support Works® wall anchor system which is a cost effective alternative to re-building a foundation wall. Simple and effective, the patented system secures and stabilizes these cracking, bowed, buckling foundation walls. By using these anchoring plates and rods to stabilize the wall they will provide counteraction of the hydro static pressure being exerted against the wall. By counteracting this pressure, the causes contributing to the deterioration are diminished. This application usually takes less than one day, and the technicians will leave your home and lawn as it was before the installation.

Q: What are the signs of foundation failure?
A: Signs of foundation failure are gaps in window and door frames, windows and doors that stick or are hard to open. Are you starting to see uneven floors? Door trim that is developing spaces? Noticeable leaning of walls? Cracks that can be seen in the exterior brick foundation or interior basement walls?

Using the Foundation Support Works® push pier system, the benefits will be no heavy equipment needed, no waiting weeks for concrete to dry. It can be installed in as little as 2 days. It can be installed in limited access areas. Faster and lower cost than old fashion methods. Can be installed year round. Spring, summer, winter and fall.

Bracket-Piers and Lift Cylinders ready to lift up!

First we attach to your homes footing a series of Foundation Support Works® push pier brackets of heavy, industrial strength steel. Then high pressure equipment hydraulically drives rugged steel piers down to solid bedrock or proper load bearing strata. This reinforcement is done below ground. Nothing is exposed. Each pier is individually anchored and tested for successful load bearing. Finally, the weight of your home is carefully transferred from unstable soil to rock solid piers so your home or commercial building is secure with the pier system permanently in place and hidden from view.
