One of the most famous homes in America is the home at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, D.C. The White House, or “The People’s House,” is worth an estimated $399,042,879, according to a recent Zillow.com article. The White House has been called home by every American president except George Washington, who chose the site. It sits on 18 acres and is 55,000 square feet. The home includes the Executive Residence bordered by colonnades that connect to the West Wing and East Wing.
Built in 1800 this historical landmark houses 16 bedrooms and 35 bathrooms. It does share some traits with many other, smaller scale homes. For instance it is cooled by central air, has a barbeque area, sprinkler system, fireplaces, double pane/storm windows and vaulted ceilings.
It also has a few luxuries that many of us would love in our dream house. Those include a large basketball court, a movie theatre, large porticos, controlled security access, a tennis court, and an elevator.
“The six-story Executive Residence serves as the president's living quarters and entertaining area. Notable rooms include the Diplomatic Reception Room where President Franklin D. As we know from recent reports regarding President Trump’s move into The White House, the first family can change the top two floors of the residents to accommodate their personal needs. In addition to many bedrooms, you'll find a sun room, music room, game room and gym. Also within the house is a library, a doctor's office, flower and carpenter shops, and a bowling alley.
The home sits on beautifully landscaped areas including, a putting green, two fountains, the Rose Garden and Jacqueline Kennedy Garden.
