The Advantages of our Push Pier System

Push PierWhen and why are Push Piers needed to fix a home’s foundation? What do they provide?  Will they work? These are just some of the questions we answer every day for our customers. Sometimes the jargon associated with the repairs can be overwhelming, but our Foundation Specialists will answer any questions you may have, show you videos to see how our products work, and offer brochures so you can review the information you received during their visit.

The Push Pier System that we use is designed to offer stability, security, and integrity to your home’s foundation. Supportworks, our parent company that designed this system, is a network of the most knowledgeable and experienced foundation repair and new construction contractors in North America. Using their shared knowledge and experience, they have created a system that uses high-strength, round steel tube sections and brackets that are designed to stabilize and lift a sinking or settling foundation.  A foundation bracket is used against the existing footing and the pier tubes, or sections, are driven hydraulically through the bracket and into the soil below using the combined structural weight and any contributory soil load as resistance.

The pier sections are driven until a suitable load bearing layer is reached. The structure then either begins to lift, or the target pressure is reached. The weight of the structure is then transferred from the unstable soil, which caused the settling, to the foundation brackets, through the piers and to firm load bearing soil or bedrock.

There are several advantages to using our Push Pier System. Our system is designed with corrosion protection. The pier tubes are made with a triple-layer, in-line galvanized coating. The pier bracket, external sleeve, and pier cap are also available with a hot-dip zinc coating for galvanized protection. The coil rod and heavy hex nuts are zinc plated. Other advantages of our Push Pier System include the fact that our portable equipment allow for installation in areas where there is limited access to the foundation. Our piers are individually load tested during installation to make sure each pier is stable and secure. Our Piering System comes with a 25 year warranty.
