Kathy D. was referred to us by her son, who met our Marketing Manager at a local networking meeting. Kathy and her husband own a lovely mountain cabin in Heber City, Utah and were having issues with water coming into the cabin as the snow melt occurred. This year was an exceptionally high pack snow year, so as the temperatures increased, the amount of water from snow melt did too.
After taking out the bottom half of the sheetrock and flooring, they discovered several cracks in the walls and floor of the cabin. Davenport Foundation Repair sent a foundation specialist to see how we could provide permanent, cost-effective solutions.
We were able to remove the existing framing to access the cabin’s foundation, chisel out concrete and install WaterGuard, a sub-floor drainage system that intercepts water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it unseen safely away. In addition, we encapsulated the foundation with Cleanspace vapor barrier, a product that is 100% waterproof, has anti-microbial protection, is durable, washable and prevents humidity from making its way through your concrete walls and into the basement. We also installed a SuperSump pump system to pump water out of the basement to a discharge line that was set up to drain 30 feet away from structure to an out-let area. This process ensures the water will be sent away from the home, preventing water in the basement. Finally we installed an Ice Guard to prevent the sump pumps discharge line from freezing in the wintertime.
