Severe foundation settlement caused large stair step cracks in this commercial building located in Midvale, Utah. There was severe wall and roof separation. We installed 14 piers on the interior of the building to lift and stabilize a sinking foundation. Our crew excavated the foundation footer and partially removed it to install the pier in the proper position. Once the piers were in place, the building was lifted back to stability and gaps in the brick of the stair step cracks closed.
This concrete step in Magna, Utah was showing signs of settlement and cracking, causing both safety concerns and curb appeal issues. Our crew used PolyLevel®, a high-density polyurethane foam, to lift and level the sunken concrete without demolition. After the lift, we sealed the joints and cracks using NexusPro®, a flexible and long-lasting sealant designed for Utah’s freeze/thaw cycles. This fast, clean, and permanent solution restored the step’s stability and appearance in just one day.
